The world of group 7
In the town of Zevenaar, there's a primary school called De Bem. All the children there learn to program. Their teacher Joost believes that coding is a vital life skill, which kids should be introduced to early in life. So he takes a playful approach, helping everyone – including those who don't have a technical bent – to discover that technology can be fun. Group 7 has just started, after listening to a few simple instructions. The emphasis is on experimentation and learning from and with each other. Excitement's in the air and within minutes the children are showing each other how to do things, without any prompting. Using the Raspberry Pi mini-computer that comes in the Bendoo Box, it won't be long before they can create their own apps and games. How cool is that?
SIDN enables secure digital living. Increasingly, that depends on ICT awareness and skill. We firmly believe that it's never too early to start fostering that awareness and skill. So we have enthusiastically supported the development of the Bendoo Box. And we offer every junior programmer their own .nl domain name free of charge for two years.
